Swear Police is an official selection in the 2009 AOF, that I officially unselected

TSP has a lot of swearing in it! NSFW! (NSFW = not safe for work, mom)

"The Swear Police" is an official selection in the 2009 AOF international Film Festival but I have, personally, unselected "The Swear Police" from this "festival" because they are charging filmmakers $150 to buy one ticket to the awards ceremony.

MovieMaker Magazine said AOF is among The 2009 List: 25 Festivals Worth the Fee.

Unfortunately, MovieMaker Magazine (@moviemakermag) got this one wrong.

I also won't be buying the Official Selection Award for $80.

I understand, it's expensive to put on a film festival, but if you can't find a way to cover overhead that DOESN'T include fucking over filmmakers, then you DON'T know how to run a film festival.

My Email to the AOF:
TO: absofree1@aol.com

I didn't realize you folks were running a bait and switch operation.

Charging filmmakers $150 per ticket to attend an awards show is criminal.

Please remove my short THE SWEAR POLICE from your competition/festival/ponzie scheme.

What you are doing is wrong.

Period.

And I will have nothing to do with it.

I also think it is sick that they would charge this kind of money.
We are screening our film Butterflies and are nominated but there is no way I could even come up with that kind of money!
Where can I see your film instead?

Hey Joe, congratulations to winning the LA Comedy Shorts earlier in the year. The Comedy Smalls is another competition you might want to consider entering. This year's theme is Travel and films can be up to 5 minutes long.
If you have any questions please drop me a line on mira@thesmalls.com.
Best,
Mira
